Traditional Acupuncture Relief
Several thousand years ago, East Asian practitioners discovered that the body forms disharmonies as a result of the various physical and mental stresses of life. These disharmonies are due to imbalances of opposing forces called yin and yang. This imbalance disrupts the movement of the body's vital energy (qi) along the meridian pathways. Meridians are the channels that the body's energy flows through. Acupuncture restores the smooth flow of qi. By inserting and manipulating needles at specific points on the body, it allows the body to come back to its natural balance and promote the body's ability to heal itself.
Accelerating into the modern world, electro acupuncture treatments parallel its traditional counterpart in many ways. The same points along the body’s meridians are still targeted, releasing accumulations of qi. But instead of simply placing the needles in a desired location, they are attached to a device that generates a mild electric current. Only two needles are used at a time during the treatment, allowing the pulses to travel from one needle to another.
