Acupuncture is method of treatment that originated in ancient China. The principles of acupuncture are to restore balance and regulate the free flow of Qi pronounced (chee) & blood in the body. Theoretically if qi and blood are flowing harmoniously pain an disease should not occur. Acupuncture is performed by having filiform (very thin non-hollow) needles inserted into specific acupuncture points. Every acupuncture point has a job/function and is chosen by your acupuncturist with a specific goal in mind.
