I’ve heard this phrase over and over. I have mixed feelings every time I hear this. On one hand when i hear this it proves how uneducated our society is regarding the health benefits of acupuncture and how it could be benefiting YOU. On the other hand I get excited because I get to be the guy who helps get you back on track.
Now to clarify, I’m not happy that anyone has been suffering with pain or illness. But I would be lying if I didn’t say I didn’t get excited to have the opportunity to help someone get their quality of life back.
Acupuncture has been shown to help treat so many conditions including but not limited to pain disorders, insomnia, allergies, infertility, anxiety/depression, digestive disorders and so much more. You do not need a prescription from a doctor to start receiving care. So why wait until you have no more resources to try acupuncture?
Now, just so everyone understands, I am not anti – western medicine, I am anti over use of western medicine. In the case of an emergency- western medicine is excellent. But other than that I’m leaning Eastern.
At DeCicco Acupuncture we go through a thorough intake to understand your condition so I can make the best possible recommendations for you. If that means referring you to your primary care doctor or to a different type of specialist, then thats what I will do. If I feel you are in the right place and I believe that acupuncture is going to benefit you, then I will tell you, you’re in the right place.
Some concerns that potential patients may have about receiving acupuncture treatments are:
Does it hurt?
Absolutely not. There are different sensations you can feel during an acupuncture treatment but pain should not be one of them.
Do I bleed?
Only if I want you too, lol! There are some bleeding techniques that could be performed but not very often, at least not in my clinic.
Sometimes there can be small amounts of blood that are wiped dry with a cotton ball. Other than that, no.
How many treatments will I need?
This varies depending on your condition and the current state you are in. A proper evaluation is necessary to determine this. Acupuncture is a therapy and results may take time, others may be much faster. Everyone is different.
Does Insurance Cover Acupuncture?
This answer varies depending on your policy. The staff at DeCicco Acupuncture will gladly verify your coverage and benefits for you.
If I don’t have coverage, is it expensive?
You don’t have to break the bank in order to receive treatment. My staff can help make treatments work within your budget so you’re able to receive the proper treatment you need.
